Getting to learn and try something new all the time is one of the reasons I chose this career path. Getting to always push your comfort a little as well as just getting to do some awesome stuff. You might be asking yourself " Like what awesome stuff Cody?" Well dear reader I will tell you, Like doing your first table smash! That's right recently I got to do my first table smash, and it was a blast. As a kid I always wondered how people in movies were able to go through tables in the movies. So to finally learn was a childhood dream come true. It's weird how often i get too say that chasing this career.
After talking through what all had to happen to the table to make it safe for filming, I jumped in to help. Getting hands on experience on how to make sure the stunt was as safe as it could be. Learning different techniques and different woods that can be used was very insightful, and will definitely come in handy down the road on future jobs. Once the table was setup it was time to get down to business and we got into the choreography. Wont give too much away, but lets just say it doesn't go well for me.
Something I've noticed is that if you wanna chase this industry and career you have to be constantly evolving. Training as much as you can, learning as much as you can, and just always be growing. I got another chance at that and it really is an amazing experience. Table smashes are equal parts sore and fun, and i honestly can't wait for my next one.
